What animal was that?

Wow!! That's a really interesting critter... wish i had been there to see it :D. Anyway, it sounds like a baby octopus to me: can't think of anything else that fits that description. Octopi (or octopuses - both are correct, believe it or not!) are smart, fast, and small ones certainly might live in tide pools.
