Why did Pirates of the Caribbean 4 get so much mixed reviews?

The critics never give the Pirates of the Caribbean movies good reviews. They didn't like the 1st one and people still went to see it. Who cares what the critics/movie snobs say. There are many movies the critics love that I find mediocre or don't like at all. The Pirates movies are fun movies, especially the 2nd one and the 4th one. I agree Penelope was a perfect addition to the movie.
